Since 2011, Niro Designs has been creating distinctive jewelry rooted in positive energy and beautiful self-expression. We believe that the pieces we wear can lift the soul. That you should feel empowered to wear jewelry with bold stilettos, as well as with jogging pants. We adore clean lines as much as we love surprising details and organic shapes. We believe in the freedom to wear what feels good, ignoring any boundaries or formulas, because wearing pieces that echo your soul inspires limitless possibilities in everyone.
Nicole Robinson is a Baltimore-based jewelry designer whose journey began with restringing her mother’s pearl costume necklace in a new way. As a child and young adult, she aspired to become a dancer, with Debbie Allen and Alvin Ailey her examples and inspirations. Nicole’s first loves were rooted in design and the creative arts.
With an affinity for wearing unique and meaningful jewelry, Nicole picked up a jewelry making book. In 2011, she sold her first pieces at a holiday fair — all 20 pieces sold. Designing jewelry calmed her mind and spirit, centering her in a world where she was often pulled in many directions. Jewelry at once became her way of connecting to herself and back to her authenticity. Nicole saw no boundaries in making jewelry, and relished the freedom of trying new colors and techniques. This platform for self-expression was limitless.
Mid-century modern interiors, art deco architecture, abstract art, period jewelry, and distinct personas, among others, inform Nicole’s design process. She enjoys giving new life to forgotten materials, often incorporating refurbished leather, recycled glass beads, and vintage findings. Above all, she creates pieces that feel like you.
The Fine Jewely Collection is the result of a serendipitous meeting and a shared love for creativity. Nicole Robinson, owner of Niro Designs, met Ani Kassian-Howard at a coffee shop where Ani worked, drawn by her compliment on Nicole’s earrings. When Nicole revealed that she made them herself, it sparked a conversation that turned into brainstorming sessions and, ultimately, this stunning collaboration.
Ani Kassian-Howard has been crafting jewelry since the age of 10. In 2020, her passion deepened as she explored metalsmithing and developed wire-wrapping skills using semi-precious crystals and silver wire. Her unique designs gained recognition through Instagram and her brand, Waltz and Theory. Now formally studying jewelry design, she has transformed her artistry into intricate metalsmithing pieces.
Ani’s creative vision and commitment to sustainable craftsmanship pair seamlessly with the ethos of Niro Designs. Together, we’re proud to present a collection that celebrates individuality, artistry, and sustainability.
